The Latest Bluffton Rotary News
UPCOMING MEETING: MAY 10, 2023
Join us this Wednesday at the Rotary Community Center at 7:30 AM.  This week we will be hearing from the Town of Bluffton's Director of Projects & Watershed Resilience, Kim Jones.

Jones is responsible for implementing the Town’s capital improvement projects, such as parks, streetscapes, sewer infrastructure, sidewalks, and lighting.  Jones is also responsible for supervising the Watershed Division and all the policies, projects, and partnerships which protect the Town’s water quality, natural resources, and watersheds.

Jones has worked in a spectrum of similar roles with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Waddell Mariculture Center, The Coastal Discovery Museum, and the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy.

See you there!

MEETING RECAP: MAY 3
Thank you for a great presentation Chief Babkiewicz. Our members enjoyed learning about the direction of Bluffton Police Department and all the great things they are doing around our town. A special thank you to the Bluffton Police Department for their hard work and dedication.

CART FUND DONATIONS
Do you worry about Alzheimer’s?  We do not have a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but we must find one.  Finding a cure starts with you.  Every year the CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) Fund gives research grants focused on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Have you given to the CART Fund this year?  The CART Fund is dedicated to raising funds to provide “seed” money for cutting edge, high impact research in hopes of finding a cure/prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.  The goal of the CART Fund is to encourage exploratory and developmental Alzheimer’s disease research projects within the United States. This is accomplished by providing financial support for the early and conceptual plans of those projects that may not yet be supported by extensive preliminary data but have the potential to substantially advance biomedical research. These projects should be distinct from those designed to increase knowledge in a well-established area unless they intend to extend previous discoveries toward new directions or applications.
