Kim Washok-Jones is the director of projects & watershed resilience.

Jones is responsible for implementing the Town’s capital improvement projects, such as parks, streetscapes, sewer infrastructure, sidewalks, and lighting.  Jones is also responsible for supervising the Watershed Division and all the policies, projects, and partnerships which protect the Town’s water quality, natural resources, and watersheds.

Jones has worked in a spectrum of similar roles with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Waddell Mariculture Center, The Coastal Discovery Museum, and the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy.

Jones has been awarded a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology, with a focus in ecology from Gannon University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, respectively.  She is also a Ph.D. candidate in the Environmental Health Sciences Program within South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health, in which she is focused on anthropogenic estuarine water quality and remediation in Bluffton.  Throughout her career, Jones’ research experiences have ranged from water quality projects in the Great Lakes to resource partitioning in Zimbabwe, Africa.

Jones has lived in the Lowcountry since 1995.
