President Jim Hudson of The Rotary Club of Bluffton presented a $10,000.00 check to Board President Peter Bromley, Vice President John Orth, and Executive Director Lili Coleman of Bluffton Self Help. The funds where raised during the Bluffton Village Festival, which is just one of the many events The Bluffton Rotary Club orchestrates to raise money for the community.

Over the years, the club has given back to the community generously via projects such as building the Community Center and Field of Dreams at Oscar Frazier Community Park – both located in Bluffton Park – and through annual events such as Happy Feet (the purchasing of shoes for children in need) and Christmas Angels (gifts for families dealing with hardships.) The club also supports the Bluffton High School Interact Club and over the years, the organization has awarded several college scholarships and savings bonds to local students.

Bluffton Self Help is an organization that exists to serve the needs of the community.  In 1987 Ida Martin founded Bluffton Self Help because she wanted to help working families and senior citizens in need of emergency food, clothing and financial assistance. Now, 24 years later Bluffton Self help is still assisting the community with the same dedication and caring that Ida Martin began.

Organizations like the Rotary Club of Bluffton and Bluffton Self Help exist because of the generosity of our great community and volunteers.

The Rotary Club of Bluffton meets 7:30AM, Wednesday mornings at the Rotary Community Center at Oscar Frasier Park, 11 Recreation Court, Bluffton. For more information call 843-815-2277 or go to www.blufftonrotary.org
