Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) is a nonprofit organization that was initiated in December of 1995. PEP seeks to empower adults with special need and its philosophy is based on the principles of inclusion, initialization, and the promotion of independence. PEP has provided quality services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1996 and is a Licensed Qualified Provider through the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (SC DDSN).

Members of the community can support PEP by attending the organization's second annual "Last Oyster Roast of the Season" on Saturday, April 2 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Oyster Company, 63 Wharf Street in Bluffton. In addition to "all you can eat oysters, chili and iced tea," attendees will also enjoy live music by The Islandeers.
