Erin Levesque of Waddell Mariculture Center
South Carolina Aquaculture Potential

Erin Levesque received a B. S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College (1996) and an M.S. in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston (2000) where she completed a thesis on the biology of diamondback terrapins. She has been a Marine Resources Division Biologist (SCDNR) since 2000 beginning with the Inshore Fisheries research section working on population dynamics of estuarine finfishes. Currently, Erin works under the direction of the Maricuture research section and in 2018 she also began managing the Waddell Mariculture Center. 

The Waddell Mariculture Center (WMC) is a field experiment station of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and is one of the country's largest and most sophisticated facilities for mariculture research.
