Enthusiastic Bluffton Rotarian Alan Johnson passed away recently. The club has made a $215 donation to Bluffton Self Help in his memory/honor. Alan Edward Johnson, age 58, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Alan was born in Muskegon, MI on August 5, 1965, to Raymond and Bonnie (Rose) Johnson and currently resided in Scottsdale, AZ. He graduated from Mona Shores High School, went on to graduate from Central Michigan University and then worked for 35 years as a Certified Financial Planner. Alan loved playing hockey and watching sports, especially the Detroit teams and rooting for his kids' Michigan Wolverines and TCU Horned Frogs - experiencing the meeting of the teams in the 2022 Fiesta Bowl together. He enjoyed hiking and all of his time on the water, especially scuba diving, boat rides and walks on the marsh. He was a natural conversationalist, always able to squeeze in a movie quote or song lyric. He had an impressive collection of vintage beer cans gathered with his dad from every corner of the country. He was very involved with the community through the Rotary Club in Bluffton, SC, and he loved spending time with his family.
Alan will be lovingly remembered by his two children: Hailey and Raymond; his three sisters: Jane Kapral, Elaine (Jeffrey) Byland, and Carol (Larry) Grevious; nieces and nephews: Andrew (Jennifer) Kapral, Shawn Byland, Kristine Roughton, David (Amber) Grevious, Brett (Ashley) Grevious, and Tyler (Leah) Grevious; the mother of his children, Lorie Johnson; girlfriend, Robin Sendra; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Bonnie Johnson; brother, David Johnson; and brother in-law, Thomas Kapral.
Please remember him in our prayers. |
