Upcoming July Meeting Schedule
This month we will be holding two member meetings: one on Wednesday, July 8th and another on July 22nd.  They will start at 8:00 am by ZOOM (the Zoom link is below). We have many members that are concerned about the virus and it has been decided to postpone our in-person meetings for a month, in an effort to do our part to slow down the virus and keep everyone safe.

In addition, our board meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th at 6:00 pm will be a ZOOM meeting as well.

We look forward to seeing you on ZOOM!!

RECAP: July 4th BOSTON BUTT FUNDRAISER

4th of July Bluffton Rotary Boston Butt Fundraiser
SOLD OUT!!

The Rotary Club of Bluffton would like to thank everyone who helped support our fundraiser! A special shout out to Megan Mack, the Chairperson of the Fundraiser Committee, and to Dan Ciuffreda and Mary O’Neill for their support and organizational help. Also thanks to our Public Image Committee for the big push on the newsletter and social media, including Lisa Carroll who facilitated our Facebook fundraiser advertisement.  And finally thank you to the volunteers who helped hand out the butts in the steamy, hot weather last Friday!
We look forward to giving all proceeds back to our community, and be on the look out for the next fundraiser on Labor Day weekend when we will sell Boston butts again and smoked beef briskets!!

Committee Spotlight: The Membership Committee
In light of the many challenges facing our Nation and our community, the need is great for club members to join one of our Rotary committees.

This week's committee spotlight is on the Membership Committee.

The Membership Committee works to attract and engage new members by promoting a positive image of BRC in the community. They also strive to retain members and improve member satisfaction by keeping current members engaged and involved with club events and fundraising goals. Committee members can help increase our membership simply by networking and relationship building in the community and spreading the word about Rotary and its principles. If you like to meet new people, have the gift for gab and love to introduce Rotary to potential members this is the committee for you!

Most importantly, this committee is responsible for conducting a new member orientation for all new Rotary members and for providing the orientation manual to new members. Speaking as a relatively new member to Rotary, the orientation and the helpful guidance to the ins and outs of Rotary from the membership folks was extremely helpful. If you’ve had a long tenure with Rotary, please consider being a mentor to a new member. Your experience and knowledge are invaluable and can help new members feel welcome and quickly become familiar with Rotary goals and processes.

Please reach out to Alan Johnson at alanjohnson792@gmail.com if you are interested in promoting Rotary in the community and want to encourage and support new Rotarians.
