UPCOMING MEETING: June 12
Join us this Wednesday at the Rotary Community Center at 7:30 AM for our weekly meeting.  Our guest speaker will be Bluffton Rotary's very own Mike Raymond.

Mike has been writing in one capacity or another for over thirty years. As a business operations consultant to Fortune 1000 companies, his work product was technical reports delivered to the executive level. Mike also designed, authored and taught courses on proprietary products and programs at the corporate level. After moving to Bluffton in 2002, he began a new career as development manager with a national home builder. Mike was hired by Morris Communications to write a weekly opinion column - commentary on national politics - which was published over seven years in multiple Lowcountry newspapers. The Bluffton Christmas Shoppe is his second book.
Meeting Recap: June 5
Mark McCain spoke with our club on June 5 about his work with Shelter Box.

The organization provides hope and a stable place to live for families who have suffered from a natural disaster or a regional conflict. It works with local governments along with other relief organizations to provide shelter that can be erected quickly and safely. Above all the desire is to keep families together in difficult times.

Mark is a member of the Sea Island Rotary Club in Beaufort, a Paul Harris Rotarian Major Contributor, and serves as a District 7770 ShelterBox Ambassador.

CART FUND DONATIONS
Do you worry about Alzheimer’s?  We do not have a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but we must find one.  Finding a cure starts with you.  Every year the CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) Fund gives research grants focused on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Have you given to the CART Fund this year?  The CART Fund is dedicated to raising funds to provide “seed” money for cutting edge, high impact research in hopes of finding a cure/prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.  The goal of the CART Fund is to encourage exploratory and developmental Alzheimer’s disease research projects within the United States. This is accomplished by providing financial support for the early and conceptual plans of those projects that may not yet be supported by extensive preliminary data but have the potential to substantially advance biomedical research. These projects should be distinct from those designed to increase knowledge in a well-established area unless they intend to extend previous discoveries toward new directions or applications.
