Our guest speaker for April 2 is Robert Dent, one of Colleton County's most beloved residents. As the son of a local teacher and truck driver, he was raised to value hard work, family, and education in the small town of Lodge, SC. It was in his hometown he fostered a sense of community for the local youth. From the time he was 11, he has always involved himself in guiding youth to success to ensure that they are protected emotionally, educationally, and most importantly, physically. By the time he graduated high school, he knew that he wanted to be a voice for the voiceless. By the time he graduated from USCB’s Comm. Studies program, he had partnered with Lutheran Services to achieve his goal on a statewide level.
At our business meeting on March 26 we recognized Esteban Rauda of Red Cedar Elementary, and Henry Cahill of M.C Riley Elementary as our students of the month. Congratulations!
Our Bluffton Rotary Club will be holding a "Fill the Van" event for Bluffton Self Help on Wednesday, April 9.
We will have the Self Help van at our morning meeting to gather food donations from Club members,
Below is a flyer from Bluffton Self Help that lists the type of food donations they need for their Easter Food Drive. Please plan to bring donations to our meeting on the 9th. If you will not be at that meeting, you can bring food donations to the meeting this coming Wednesday.
Regardless of issue, please let us know if something is going on to prevent you from attending our meetings. We have many members who can help, pray, or just call to lift your spirits.

Do you worry about Alzheimer’s? We do not have a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but we must find one. Finding a cure starts with you. Every year the CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) Fund gives research grants focused on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Have you given to the CART Fund this year? The CART Fund is dedicated to raising funds to provide “seed” money for cutting edge, high impact research in hopes of finding a cure/prevention for Alzheimer’s disease. The goal of the CART Fund is to encourage exploratory and developmental Alzheimer’s disease research projects within the United States. This is accomplished by providing financial support for the early and conceptual plans of those projects that may not yet be supported by extensive preliminary data but have the potential to substantially advance biomedical research. These projects should be distinct from those designed to increase knowledge in a well-established area unless they intend to extend previous discoveries toward new directions or applications.
