VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - ARBOR DAY
Join us for a landscaping project for Arbor Day, April 30th at the Field of Dreams Pavilion. We have a sign up sheet on the club website and on the bulletin under Upcoming Events: Arbor Day Planting to help plant 56 plants around the Pavilion.  We will need ten volunteers for Friday, April 30th from 7:30 - 9:30am.

In addition to the planting, we would greatly appreciate donations to help pay for these 56 plants.  The total cost of all 56 plants is $900.  Southern Marsh Nursery has been very helpful in providing us some very favorable pricing for these plants. If you are interested in making a donation please reach out to Jim Evans at 770-335-3524 or 22jsevans@gmail.com.
CEREAL BOXES DONATED TO BSH
On Friday, April 9, Bluffton Rotarians helped move 6,000 cereal boxes from Red Cedar Elementary School to Bluffton Self Help. Red Cedar Elementary used the cereal boxes to play a giant game of Dominoes and broke the Guinness World Record! Once they were done playing, they donated the cereal to BSH. Rotarians using their pick-up trucks helped bring the donation to BSH. Pictures below...(Masks were worn; however, we wanted to share this picture of the volunteers and their favorite cereal!)
RECAP: April 7 Meeting
At our last meeting, the Chief of the Bluffton Police Department, Stephanie Price, gave a presentation about an initiative called 21st Century Policing which is designed to study the link between procedural justice and legitimacy and trust within the community. Chief Price discussed the 6 major elements to the 21st Century Policing model--1) Building Trust and Legitimacy, 2) Policy and Oversight, 3) Technology and Social Media, 4) Community Policing and Crime Reduction, 5) Training and Education, and 6) Officer Wellness and Safety.

Prior to moving to the Lowcountry, Chief Price worked at the Savannah Police Department as Assistant Chief where she led the Administrative Bureau which supervised the Budget, Traffic, Training, Special Events, Mounted Patrol, K-9 Fleet, Recruitment and Special Operation Divisions. Before moving to Savannah, she spent almost 20 years with the Kansas City Police Department. Chief Price has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Park University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Benedictine University.

Thank you very much to Chief Price for joining us for an early morning meeting!
BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED FOR FREE LITTLE LIBRARIES
We still need book donations for the two Little Free Libraries our club maintains.
