Thank you, Michelle Harp, Executive Director of Family Promise for joining us last week to share about the challenges that families face in Beaufort County. Michelle encouraged us all to build unity as we approach the holiday season and have more time together with our family.

Last week's meeting was very special as we recognized our Rotarian Veterans and remembered those who made an ultimate sacrifice and unfortunately did not return home with the Fallen Comrade Table.

The Fallen Comrade Table represents that our fallen soldiers and here with us in spirit. Round table for everlasting concern, white table cloth for pure motives, single rose to remind us of their lives and their loved ones who keep the faith, red ribbon for determination to account for our missing, slice of lemon to remind us of their bitter fate captured in foreign land, a pinch of salt to symbolize their tears, a lighted candle that reflects our hope for their return, a bible representing strength, inverted glass symbolizing their inability to share a toast, and an open seat remaining unclaimed.
