On Wednesday, September 15, the Club presented a $1,500 check to Bluffton Self Help's Board of Directors President, Peter Bromley, Executive Director, Jenny Haney, and Board members Tony Ciervo and Tray Hunter.

Bluffton Self Help was founded in 1987 by Ida Martin to help members of the Bluffton community in need of food, clothing and financial assistance. In 2009, the non-profit organization distributed 54,000 cans of food, 100,000 articles of clothing and provided financial assistance to 650 families in critical need. In addition, 300 families received full Thanksgiving dinners and 800 children had the opportunity to open gifts at Christmas. In total, 22,000 individuals were assisted by the organization.

Bluffton Self Help, a United Way agency, relies heavily on donations from the community as well as fund raising, such as the Bluffton Self Help "BaSH" held at Hampton Lake each year.
